Signwriters really need to learn about the apostrophe. I am always greatly amused when an establishment has clearly spent a lot of money on signage, only to have accidentally omitted an apostrophe.
On the other hand, misplaced apostrophes displease me greatly.

The very library I work in has a giant CHILDRENS AREA sign--purchased long before my time, I hasten to add.
Somehow I find the saddest ones those giant carved stones people sometimes place in their yards reading "The Smith's"...
